There are so many people looking for natural alternatives to pain relief who look beyond foods that are therapeutic that may help to ease their pain in a natural way.  You see, there are many foods that contain naturally anti inflammatory chemicals that occur in nature that we just don’t know about.  If you don’t like the foods, you can try an herbal pain killer, which has a lot of these natural compounds we speak of, in a more concentrated form so you don’t have to eat all kinds of food to get the benefit (it’s the convenience angle).

One of the natural chemicals that can provide some pain relief is called capsaicin, which you may have heard of.  It’s actually the chemical in peppers that makes them so hot to the tongue.  Interestingly, arthritis patient can reduce their pain and inflammation tremendously by applying a topical capsaicing cream which you may have heard of before, for a few weeks at a time.  Capsaicin essentially desensitizes certain nerve receptors that act up when pain is triggered and can have a lasting effect when it is consistently applied.

Another interesting effect that capsaicin can have on pain and discomfort is for patients that have problems with migraine headaches.  When they apply capsaicin to the insides of their nostrils, they actually experience a reduction in the intensity of the headache and subsequent relief.  These ointments are actually sold in drugstores and are mostly sold in the same strength.

It sure beats taking over the counter pain relievers that can do a real number on your gut in the process and are said to be bad for you when taken all the time.  Another natural spice that helps with inflammation is one of my favorites in Indian cooking called tumeric, which is naturally anti inflammatory in nature and also tastes delicious.  There are actually numerous indian spices that are used in indian cuisine that are excellent for the health and contain anti inflammatory properties for all the best in natural, herbal pain relief
